Fora TV: Understanding Russia Today

Dmitri Trenin discusses Understanding Russia Today.
World Affairs Council of Oregon, Portland, Oregon, USA, Sep 21st, 2007

US-Russia relations are cooling; is a Cold War brewing?

What will happen when President Putin leaves office in March 2008?

A frequent commentator on US-Russia relations for The Jim Lehrer Newshour, Dmitri Trenin is Deputy Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center where he is co-chair of the center's Foreign and Security Policy Program. He is also a Senior Associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International.

Rory's Note:- While Trenin discusses Russia from the point-of-view of a Russian capitalist --a position with which I clearly do not identify-- this talk is a useful insight into contemporary Russia which is most certainly not a revived Soviet Union. We need to listen to people like Trenin in order to see beyond the turgid language of the USUK propaganda and PSYOPS machine.
